I hadn't spent any money hoping that the 2gb bios upgrade would appear but more than likely if i want the performance I had without an upgrade, its looking like XP is in fact my best option.</description>

The Q1B only supports 1GB RAM modules, as far as I know there isn't a BIOS update coming. I would suggest upgrading to 1GB of RAM for Vista or going back to XP if you're not happy with the performance.
