So I guess I’m famous?

Last night I was offered the unique chance to be interviewed by Kumiko Suzuko for her blog http://www.bloginterview.net/

I first came across Kumiko from her blog “Kumkiko’s Cash Quest.” Looks like it is quite the successful blog! Well anyways thanks to MyBlogLog, Kumiko extended the offer to be interviewed for BlogInterview and of course I accepted!

Here’s the full Interview.

One down, two to go.

So I’ve been incredibly busy lately. Basically Vista on the UMPC makes me less efficient (I’m sticking too that!) So anyways I’ve had 3 websites on my plate lately. Two freelance jobs, and one of my own creation. Well one of these sites got finished tonight. Mine.

Welcome to ShareTheMoneyWithUs. It’s a blog about blogging. I figure I’ve been blogging for about 4 years now, I think I may know a thing or two. Hell, I’ve had both an informal and formal education when it comes to web development. I think it’s time I finally spread some of that knowledge in that head of mine. ShareTheMoneyWithUs will be starting from the ground up explaining what a blog is, how to pick your topic and niche, how to setup that site, and then grow it into something that is successful. I’m not officially starting the postings on it until Monday (2/19/07), but I thought I’d give my readers here a little insight on the upcoming topics to be covered:

  • Week 1: Starting A Blog
  • Week 2: Setting Up The Blog
  • Week 3: Spreading the word about your new Blog
  • Week 4: SEO, another scarey 3 letter acronym
  • Week 5: Monetization – Show me the money
  • Week 6: Show me the money (Part II)

I’ve put more than a little time and effort into this endeavor so I hope that everyone can get something out of this. This blog is for the readers. So if you see something you like, of even something you don’t, leave a comment! I’m not the only one with experience in this field so anyone’s input is welcome.

EDIT: I’ve got the ShareTheMoneyWith.Us feed setup, if you are interested update those feed readers

MyBlogLog – An invaluable asset!

Ok, so let’s put it this way, I just last week got with it in regards to MyBlogLog. Tonight after going through who has viewed my profile and my site, I really like it. The reasoning is simple, I was planning on doing a post to call out browsers of my blog. Assuming my stats are correct, I’ve been averaging about 250-300 views a day. Someone other than myself must be reading this thing. Don’t be afraid to comment. I can’t be the only one with an opinion on this stuff.

So back to MyBlogLog, it’s great! In regards to de-lurking, MyBlogLog does that for you! As long as you are logged in, MyBlogLog shows that you have viewed Blog XYZ. I’m also liking the fact that it puts some sort of avatar with the reader’s name.

Yes, I do know that my MyBlogLog widget is floating within my theme, and i’m working to fix that issue.

My only suggestion to the people at MyBlogLog would be to incorporate a RSS reader. Possibly have any blogs a user is a community of are added to their reader? It would be just another feature to make MyBlogLog better. That way I wouldn’t have to head over to Google Reader to add great new blogs I stumble across like Bryan Le’s.

End of the week update:

Ok, so after about a week on Site5 I’ll say i’m impressed. Other than that I’m not signed up with several ad providers. I’m signed up as an affilliate for Site5, I had been accepted to Adsense and Text Link Ads, and since then I’ve been accepted to AdBrite, and YPN. The only disappointing thing is that I’m still waiting for TLA to fill some of my Ad spots.

This weekend I think i’ll run some calculations on this weeks data from AwStats as well as prepare for next week. I’ve got a few things planned. Hopefully some reviews and maybe a UMPC article or two.
